Romania's OMV Petrom gets new board president
German Rainer Seele officially took over as president of the supervisory board of local oil & gas company OMV Petrom on July 7.
He was appointed as CEO of the Austrian group OMV, which owns OMV Petrom, on July 1. He replaced OMV’s former CEO Gerhard Roiss, who stepped down at the end of June.
Seele, 54, was previously CEO of German oil company Wintershall, which has been involved in the natural gas imports from Russia, including in Romania.
Seele’s contract with OMV will be for three years, with the possibility of a two-year extension, according to OMV.
OMV Petrom is Romania’s largest group of companies, with a consolidated turnover of EUR 4.85 billion, in 2014.
