The operating leasing firms in Romania had more than 62,000 cars under their management at the end of the first quarter of 2017, up 3% compared to the end of 2016.

Between January and March, operating leasing companies acquired almost 4,300 motor vehicles. They represented 16% of the new vehicle registrations recorded during this period, namely 26,000 cars and light commercial vehicles.

By comparison, the registrations from operating leasing had a share of 13.3% of the total number of registrations during the first three months of 2016.

The top five companies in this sector are LeasePlan Romania, Arval Service Lease Romania, ALD Automotive, Porsche Mobility, and BCR Fleet Management, according to data centralized by the Association of Operational Leasing Societies (ASLO).

The operating leasing services have the highest share in the activity of these companies. These include financing and fleet management services, and have a share of 76%.
