Romanian MPs had the possibility to submit amendments to the proposed budget for 2016 until the evening of December 10, and the final vote was scheduled for December 16, next week.

The Government approved the draft budget on Wednesday without discussing it with civil society representatives.

The members of the civil society received invitations to debates on the budget, on Wednesday afternoon, but when the talks took place the Government had already approved the budget, reports local Profit.ro.

The Fiscal Council has criticized the budget, saying that it brought both tax cuts and spending increases and that it was unrealistic.
