The total number of retirees in Romania amounted to 5.1 million at the end of September, down by 3,900 compared to the previous month.
The number of those who retired earlier rose by 300, to 23,600 people. The number of those with normal retirement age pension reached 3.8 million at the end of September, down by 1,300 compared to August.
The pensioners who were active in agriculture amounted to 453,000, down by 3,500.
