Romania's second largest online IT&C retailer ups sales by 20%
Corsar Online, the company that manages cel.ro, the second largest online IT&C store in Romania, recorded a turnover of EUR 39 million last year, up 20% over 2014.
The company, which is controlled by Romanian investor Tiberiu Pop, recorded a net profit of EUR 51,000, down by almost half compared to the previous year, according to financial data reported at the Ministry of Finance.
The average number of employees totaled 103, up 38 over 2014. At the end of 2015, cel.ro had debts of EUR 4.8 million.
The online IT&C market is dominated by eMAG. Cel.ro ranks second, followed by PC Garage, with a turnover of EUR 37.5 million last year.
eMAG recently bought PC Garage and announce it would support it to become a regional player. Cel.ro was unhappy with this transaction and asked the Competition Council to step in and block it arguing that it would disrupt competition on the online segment.
