Romania's stock market, among best performing in the world
Romania's Bucharest Stock Exchange, whose indexes went up by 22.5 percent year-to-date, was placed 15th in a recent ranking of stock markets across the globe, made by Bespoke Investment Group.
The best performer was the Dubai Stock Exchange, with an almost two-fold increase year-to-date.
Romania's performance was better than Germany's, whose stock exchange gains were of 19.3 percent year-to-date. In terms of growth, Bucharest Stock Exchange managed to outpace London Stock Exchange, which only posted a 9.98 percent.
In China, Russia, and Brazil, the respective stock exchanges actually went down year-to-date, with the steepest decline of the three recorded in Brazil, minus 17.8 percent.
Romania's performance was close to that of US, which posted a year-to-date growth in its stock market gains of 25 percent. Romania's neighbor Bulgaria had a better performance: a 38.2 percent growth.
