Romania's Tax Agency controls large shopping malls and hypermarkets
Romania’s Tax Agency ANAF has started controls at various large shopping centers and hypermarkets. The ANAF inspectors are checking if the companies’ balance sheets are up to date and if the companies have paid all the taxes owed to the state.
ANAF’s searches target some large shopping malls such as Unirea Shopping Center, AFI Cotroceni, Bucharest Mall, and Plaza Romania, in Bucharest, and at Iulius Mall shopping centers in Timisoara and Cluj, reports local Digi24. The list also includes the hypermarket chain Cora, the supermarket chain Billa and the do-it-yourself retailer Bricostore.
ANAF has notified the shopping centers that it would be checking their documents for the past five years.
