Romania's tax authority goes after state-owned thermal electricity producer
Romania’s tax authority ANAF has started the enforcement proceedings against state-owned thermal electricity producer Complexul Energetic Oltenia, which has a total state debt of EUR 5.6 million.
The debt to the social insurance budget represents the biggest part of the total debt, namely EUR 3.2 million, according to ANAF. The company also owes EUR 881,000 to the public health insurance budget and some EUR 130,000 to the unemployment insurance budget.
The electricity producer announced that it paid EUR 93.3 million to the state in the first nine months, and that it has no debt to the state budget, reports local Mediafax. However, ANAF has started the foreclosure procedure to recover the damages.
