Romania’s trade deficit up to EUR 3.29 bln in the first half
Romania’s exports increased by 5.9% in the first six months of 2015, to EUR 27 billion, while the imports were 6.9% higher in this period, reaching EUR 30.3 billion, according to recent data from the National Statistics Institute.
The trade deficit reached EUR 3.29 billion in the first half of the year, up EUR 441.1 million year-on-year.
By group of products, an important share of the exports and imports was held by cars and transport equipment (44.6% of exports and 36.7% of imports) and other manufactured goods (33.2% of exports and 31.5% of imports).
In June, the exports amounted to EUR 4.76 billion, up 6.3% year-on-year, while the imports totaled EUR 5.48 billion, 9% higher than in the same period the previous year. The trade deficit reached EUR 719.9 million, according to INS.
