Romania's unemployment rate reaches lowest level since mid-2009
The unemployment rate reached 6.5% in February, the lowest level since mid-2009.
The number of unemployed amounted to 597,000, down 7,000 compared to January, according to the National Statistics Institute (INS).
In February last year, Romania had about 626,000 unemployed people. In January 2016, the number of unemployed dropped to some 604,000.
The unemployment is higher among men, with a rate of 7% in February whereas the unemployment among women reached 5.8%.
