Romtelecom and Cosmote to supply telecom services to lender BCR in Romania
Telecom companies Romtelecom and Cosmote Romania have won the bid to supply communication services to Romanian lender BCR for the next three years. This is the highest contract on the market, according to Romtelecom, which didn't disclose its value. According to Ziarul Financiar, the contract is worth EUR 10 million.
Romtelecom and Cosmote will supply IP telephony services, VPN data services, as well as data and mobile telephony services. BCR has previously used the telecom services of Orange and Vodafone, according to Ziarul Financiar. Cosmote, the third player on the Romanian telecom market based on yearly revenues, has 6.6 million clients in Romania. Cosmote and Romtelecom are owned by Greek company OTE.
BCR is the leasing lender in Romania based on assets, with a portfolio exceeding EUR 16 billion. BCR's main shareholder is Austrian Erste Bank.
