Romtelecom opens BPO center in Romanian city Bacau
Romanian telecom company Romtelecom, majority owned by Greek OTE, has recently opened a call center for business process outsourcing (BPO) in Bacau, Romania, for business customers from the country and abroad, where it plans to hire hundreds of agents, according to the company.
The call center has worked so far as a pilot project, and already has dozens of employees. Romtelecom will manage the call center operations, including training for agents, while a separate company will provide the necessary staff, depending on the contracts in progress, according to the company.
Romtelecom posted revenues of EUR 332.4 million in the first six months of this year, down 9 percent on the same period in 2010, according to the company. Its second quarter revenues decreased by 7 percent year-on-year, to EUR 166 million.
