Russian hackers attack Romanian Government’s computers
Russian hackers have tried to break into the Romanian Government’s computer systems, according to Romanian cybersecurity experts.
Cyber.crime, the special division within the Romanian Intelligence Service - SRI that deals with cyber-crime, has partially confirmed the information. However, it has not checked out the attackers’ identity.
The hackers are not interested in bank data or transaction interceptions. They want power, so they have been collecting top secret information for almost ten years now, according to security experts quoted by Digi 24 news station.
Recently, Romania has officially taken the commitment to protect Ukraine’s information systems. It would be reason enough to become Russian target, experts explain.
