S Immo to put EUR 66 mln into The Mark - Bucharest office building with intelligent facade
Austrian investment fund S Immo will develop a 28,000 sqm office building in Bucharest under the name 'The Mark', with a budget of EUR 66 million. The Mark will be located at the crossroads between the future Uranus boulevard and Calea Grivitei, close to the office hotspot Victoriei Square.
The project will include a 15-floor tower and a six-floor adjoining office building called the Podium. Colliers International and Jones Lang LaSalle real estate agencies are co-exclusive agents for the project.
The new real estate project has been designed by the architects at Chapman Taylor. The building will have an ''intelligent facade', with external blinds, which will allow screenings on the facade, reminding of the former cinema hall on the adjoining site. The former Feroviar cinema in the area was demolished along with other buildings on the Buzesti street in 2011, to make room for the future Uranus boulevard.
In Romania, S Immo owns the Novotel hotel building and the Sun Plaza shopping center and offices. The company's shareholders are Erste Group and Vienna Insurance Group.
