Saint Dumitru Fair at Bucharest's village museum: eat, drink, wear, buy, see and listen to traditional Romania
The National Village Museum will host the traditional Saint Dumitru Fair between October 26 and 28, starting at 12:00. The orthodox Church celebrates Saint Dumitru on October 26 (today).
The program includes folk dancing groups, folk music bands, popular Romanian and Bulgarian music, brass bands, religious music, military parades, theater, an art exhibition and a folk- inspired costumes parade.
Also there will be traditional goodies on offer such as cakes, pies, meat products, cheeses, gingerbread, organic products - honey, fruits and vegetables, zacuscă (vegetables mix), sweets. Craftsmen from across the country will be selling arts and crafts, ideal for a Romania themed gift.
On October 27 the museum will host religious music and dance groups from Cyprus, organized in collaboration with the Embassy of Cyprus in Romania.
Anyone named after Saint Dumitru can get in free on October 26 and 27 (ID essential).
