French construction materials producer Saint-Gobain Glass will invest EUR 6 million in a new production line for laminated glass at its production unit in Calarasi, the company has announced. Works on adding the new line will start in the second half of this year and will become operational in 0211. “Our production platform from Romania was created as a regional center, serving the Romanian and Balkan market. In our view, Romania's increase potential has stayed intact, and so has the potential of other markets in the region, despite the economic difficulties,” said Ovidiu Pascutiu, general manager of Saint-Gobain Glass Romania. This is the third big component of the company's operations in Romania and comes after EUR 100 million of investments in a flat glass factory in Calarasi.

The group is present with nine companies in Romania and employees over 1,000 people in the country.
