Saint Patrick’s Day parties and events this weekend in Bucharest

The national day of Ireland, known as Saint Patrick’s Day, is celebrated on March 17 by the Irish, and many others, around the world.  Several concerts and parties are also on in Bucharest this weekend to celebrate the Irish National Day.

On March 16 Athenee Hilton Hotel in Bucharest (1-3, Episcopiei St.) is hosting the St. Patrick’s Festival Ball at 19:00, while from 21:00, the St. Patrick’s Weekend starts at Fire club in Bucharest (12, Gabroveni St.).

On Saturday ( March 17 ) St. Patrick’s Day will be celebrated in Bucharest’s Old Town - in the Lipscani-Smardan area, at 17:00. During this event, students from the Anne Marie Cunningham Dance School will perform (members of the bands Celtic Fire – Satu Mare, Tir na nOg – Miercurea Ciuc, The Sky – Iasi and Irish Way - Bucharest), followed by the band Bordo Sarkany from Hungary, Irish band The Amazing Apples, and rock band Blackbeers.

Also on March 17 is the Irish at Heart party at Open Pub in Bucharest (65, Tunari St.), at 21:00. Underworld Club  (48, Coltei St.) is also celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with a party at 22:00.
