Sales of prescription drugs, up by 10.7% in Romania
Romanian doctors issued prescriptions for drugs worth EUR 836 million in the first quarter of the year.
The amount, which is based on distribution prices, went up by 10.7% compared to 2014, according to market analysis company Cegedim, reports local Mediafax.
Non-prescription drugs reached EUR 141.5 million, up 27.7% year-on-year. The drugs in hospitals totaled EUR 8.5 billion, up 11.5% compared to the first quarter of 2014.
The drugs for the respiratory system increased by 15.3%, those for blood and hematopoietic organs grew by 14.4% and the ones for the digestive system rose by 11%.
