“Sanziene Night” celebrated at Minovici museum this week

Newcomers to Romania, as well as those already settled in can enjoy a night-long event for the celebration of the Romanian holiday Sanziene. The event, called “Sanziene Night”, will be held in Bucharest on Thursday, June 23, at the Minovici Museums, near Miorita fountain, in northern Bucharest.

During this event, "Sânzienele" will be present among the guests, who will enjoy the performances offered by Romanian dancers Razvan Mazilu and Monica Petrica, actress Brandusa Casandra Mircea, choreographer and dancer Ioana Macarie, actor Constantin Florescu and Sound choir, led by Voicu Popescu.

A reading session of "Sanziene Night" (Noaptea de Sanziene) written by the well-known Romanian writer Mircea Eliade will be held in the courtyard of the Central School of Bucharest.  The Minovici Museums will also host photo and art exhibitions and two fashion presentations.

“Sanzienele” is a Romanian tradition that is celebrated on June 24, and is the celebration of love and fertility, followed by a magical night. "Sanzienele" are some beautiful fairies that live in forests or plains, where they dance and give magical powers to the plants.
