Second edition of Romanian Film Festival to kick off at Stanford University

The second edition of the Romanian Film Festival, organized in the US, at the Stanford University, will take place from April 1 to 6 this year. The event is organized by the Romanian Cultural Institute, the Center for Russian, Eurasian and East European Languages ​​Department within the Stanford University and the Institute for Slavic, East European and Eurasian at the Berkeley University (California).

The festival's theme this year is “Capitalism and Adaptation”. It will include Romanian films like: “If I want to whistle, I whistle” (Eu cand vreau sa fluier, fluier) directed by Florin Serban, “Tertium non datur” directed by Lucian Pintilie, documentaries and short-movies like “Alexandra” directed by Radu Jude, “Stopover” directed by Ioana Uricaru and many others. The screenings will be accompanied by workshops and discussion sessions. Check out the schedule here.

An exhibition of posters made by students of  the “Nicolae Tonitza” art school in Bucharest, Gavril Kovacs class teacher, will also be organized during the festival.
