Security interviews at Bucharest’s Otopeni Airport triple

15 December 2015

The number of security interviews at Bucharest’s Otopeni Airport has tripled in the last month, after the Paris attacks.

About 80 interviews have taken place during this period, according to Romania’s Intelligence Service SRI.

Some 9,000 people have been placed on a watch list so that the authorities would be alerted if they tried to enter Romania. The list includes people who are not directly linked to Romania, who may be involved in terrorism related activities. Other countries’ security services have helped in collecting names.

The risks have become more particular, according to Romania’s Security Service.
