Seminar on how to get a Harvard scholarship, with the Harvard interviewer for Romania

The George Bacovia University in Bacău organizes a seminar on 'How to get a scholarship with Harvard' on November 26, from 12,00 hours, in the Aula Moldova hall of the George Bacovia University in Bacau, third floor, A wing. The event was initiated by the Romanian Member of the Parliament Tudor Chiuariu.

The main guest of the event will be Alexandru Manaila, Harvard interviewer for Romania and Harvard College graduate, the class of 2007. The participants to the seminar will learn how to increase their chances to be accepted by the well known American university and how to get a scholarship with the Harvard university.

Alexandru Manaila, the Harvard interviewer for Romania, graduated from the Harvard College in 2007, specializing in Economy. He is also the co-founder of Ivy Plus in Romania, a club which reunites Harvard, Yale, Princeton, MIT, INSEAD, Oxford graduates, as well as Romanian business people.

Almost 40 Romanians were studying at Harvard in 2009 and two to six Romanians get accepted there every year. Last year, 21,000 students signed up at Harvard, out of which 6,600 pursuing undergraduate degrees. According to the most recent statistics, around 70 percent of the Harvard undergraduates receive some form of financial assistance, including outside awards.

The average scholarship offered by Harvard is of USD 28,000. Students whose parents eacrn less than USD 40,000 a year can get a full Harvard scholarship, which means their parents don't have to contribute to study payments. Foreign students have the same access to financial aid funding as U.S. Citizens.
