Senate approves prosecution of two former Romanian ministers
The Senate recently approved the start of prosecution procedures for ex Minister of Education Ecaterina Andronescu and for the Social Democrat Party (PSD) senator Serban Mihailescu.
There have been 73 votes for, 62 against and one abstention for Andronescu’s prosecution in the Microsoft file, and 77 votes for, 51 against and one canceled vote for Mihailescu’s prosecution, reports local Mediafax.
Mihailescu, a former head of the Government Secretary General, with ministerial attributions, is accused of abuse of power, nepotism and money laundering.
“I will fight to prove my innocence in court, and please do not lose confidence in my honesty; I deserve to fight, because it's my only wealth," said PSD senator Ecaterina Andronescu.
