Several beaches in Romania to be restored with EUR 150 mln from European funds

The Romanian Dobrogea Litoral Basin Water Administration  (ABADL) wants to restore the Romanian beaches of Mamaia, Constanta and Eforie, which were affected by coastal erosion. This project will have EUR 150 million from European funds. The works could take two to three years, from the moment the revamping process will start.

“We estimate that in October we will submit the documentation to the European Commission. This year we want to organize the first auction for the rehabilitation work of the coast", according to ABADL officials.

The southern sector is a priority because of its national economic, social, touristic and strategic importance, and because the fast erosion of beaches.
