Several Romanian ministers, including Ioana Petrescu – Minister of Finance, Remus Pricopie – Minister of Education and Constantin Nita – Minister of Economy, are targeted by a Government reshuffle of the Ponta cabinet, political sources told local Mediafax.

Prime Minister Victor Ponta could also axe Mihnea Costoiu – Delegated Minister for Research and Bogdan Stanoevici – Minister Delegated for Romanians Everywhere, as well as other delegated ministers, in order to merge ministries.

Other delegated ministers who could lose their portfolio are Darius Valcov – Budget Minister, Florin Jianu – Minister for SMEs and Tourism, Doina Pana – Minister for Water and Forests, Razvan Nicolescu – Energy Minister and Aurelia Cristea – Minister for Social Dialogue.
