Biggest theater festival in Romania has EUR 13 mln budget this year
The 15th edition of the Sibiu International Theater Festival, the biggest such event in Romania, has a budget of EUR 12.9 million, EUR 700,000 higher than last year, according to the festival’s director Constantin Chiriac.
Little over a quarter (26.5%) of the funds come from the public authorities, including Sibiu City Hall, the Culture Ministry and the Education Ministry, while most of the money comes from sponsors, local News.ro reported.
Some 3,300 artists from 56 countries have been invited to the festival this year. They will have 525 performances in 73 locations, including outdoor events.
The festival’s patrons this year are Prince Charles of Wales and president Klaus Iohannis.
