Sinaia gets new ski lift for Valea Soarelui ski slope

The ski chairlift ropeway system in the ski slopes area Valea Soarelui and Laptici in Sinaia mountain resort, north of Bucharest, has recently been opened to the public, following EUR 30 million in investments, according to the Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism.

"The opened ski lifts allow access to a couple of new ski runs - Valea Soarelui and Laptici. Valea Soarelui will host for the first time an international skiing contest - Alpine Skiing European Cup," said Elena Udrea, Minister of Regional Development and Tourism.

The ropeway system is set on the southwestern mountain slope of Mount Furnica. It is 1,600 m long and can carry up to 1,800 people per hour. The run takes about minutes.
