Six gold medals for Romania at the International Astronomy Olympiad
Romania won six gold medals at the International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics organized this August in Suceava, north-eastern Romania. Iran got four gold medals, followed by Singapore with two medals and Serbia and India with one gold medal each, reports local Mediafax.
The Romanians who got gold at this year’s edition of the Olympiad are Denis Turcu, Tudor Costel Cretu, Iustina Craciun, Paul Andrei Draghis, Andrei Cuceu and Andrei Raduc.
The Romanian team also won four silver medals.
Over 200 students from 37 countries participated at the International Astronomy Olympiad organized in Suceava, Romania.
