Six Romanian bands line up at this year’s B’estfest edition in Bucharest- listen to their songs
The six Romanian bands that have been announced to perform at the B’estfest Summer Camp, between July 1 and 3 this year are OCS (July 1), Coma (July 1), Suie Paparude (July 2), Travka (July 2), Magnolia (July 2) and Sarmalele Reci (July 3). (Listen to their songs below) They will join the bands already confirmed like Skunk Anansie, Flogging Molly, Roger Sanchez, Mika, Lamb, Asian Dub Foundation, Pendulum, House of Pain si Hadouken! Founded in the early 90’s, Suie Paparude (in picture) is an electronic music trio that is always trying new and innovative sounds. More information about Suie Paparude here. Founded in 1997, OCS released until now seven albums, over 20 videos and have had hundreds of concerts, being the best rated band of the alternative rock genre from Romania.
Alternative band Travka, founded in 2004, released their first album two years later, followed by a sharp break-up between 2005 and 2006. Magnolia is Raluca Leahu’s “soul” project, known for her music and DJ career and also for her radio and TV career. Magnolia mixes disco music with electro, pop, soul and even rock influences. The band will also play opening for Roxette's concert on May 30.
Founded at the end of the 90’s, Coma is one the first alternative rock bands from Romania. Over the time the band released three albums. The different and optimistic sound made by Sarmalele Reci turned the band into one of the most popular rock bands from Romania. Founded in 1993, the band produces a traditional style of music with a non-conformist sound.
