Snow, wind and low temperatures take over Romania this week
Romania's mountain areas and its northern regions have been placed under a Code Yellow for snow and wind on Monday morning (November 25), and meteorologists expect the bad weather to last until during the night on Monday to Tuesday.
It will snow during the day in Transylvania, Maramures, Crisana and Moldovan areas of Romania, while blizzards will be stronger in the mountains and in the Northern part of Moldova. On Tuesday and on Wednesday, November 26 and 27, it will also snow in the South – West and in some regions in the South of the country.
It will also get much colder this week in Romania, with temperatures 5 degrees Celsius below the average for the period. During the night, temperatures will go below zero, dropping down to as much as minus 10 degrees Celsius at night in the Eastern part of Transylvania, which is in central Romania.
In Bucharest, maximum temperatures will range from a maximum of 11 degrees Celsius on Monday, to 4, 6 and 2 the rest of the week, and continue to stay low, between 3 and 6, during the weekend and in the first week of December. Minimum temperatures will stay several degrees below zero. The bad weather comes after several weeks of higher than expected temperatures, a long autumn with sunny days.
