Software piracy rate for PCs slightly down in Romania in 2013
The PC software piracy rate in Romania has slightly declined from 63% in 2011 to 62% in 2013, mainly due to measures taken to combat this phenomenon, according to an IDC study, cited by local Wall-street.ro.
IDC believes that, without the efficient anti-piracy measures taken between 2011 and 2013, the piracy rate would have been even higher, by 2 to 4%. This is due mainly to the growth in the number of PCs brought and installed by consumers.
