Standard & Poor's maintains Romania’s rating
Standard & Poor's announced on Friday that it maintained Romania’s rating at BBB- (investment grade), with a stable outlook.
The country’s rating for short-term loans has stayed at A-3, according to the rating agency.
“Policy uncertainty in Romania is likely to remain elevated in the run-up to the November general elections, with scope for further deterioration in public finances,” reads the S&P report.
However, the rating agency expects that the government and external debt will not rise significantly and that unpredictability will subside after the elections.
Standard & Poor's issues credit ratings for the debt of public and private companies, and other public borrowers such as governments and governmental entities.
