The Romanian Government will cover EUR 2.8 million worth of compensatory payments for the 2,133 employees laid off from the thermal electricity producer Complexul Energetic Oltenia.

They will receive the money as a monthly additional income. The executive has decided to make layoffs in order to increase the company’s efficiency, and needs to implement a restructuring program.

The Government also decided yesterday to give the thermal electricity producer Complexul Energetic Hunedoara a state aid of EUR 37.5 million to save it overcome the big financial issues. It will grant the loan for six months.
