Subsonic Festival promises plenty dub this August in Ploiesti, Romania

The first edition of the Subsonic festival promises 60 hours of live music with 30 artists like Shapeshifter, Bush Chemist, Dawa Hifi, Iration Steppas, O.B.F. and Panda Dub between August 3-5, 2012 at Fun Park Paulesti, Ploiesti.

New Zealand's highest grossing live act give a great show that can't be missed. Shapeshifter have been declared a musical prodigy for their live show's staggering and unique blend of heavy soul and drum & bass. Their reputation as pioneers of modern music was built with a unique approach to electronic music, earning them much critical acclaim and commercial success. The third album, 'Soulstice', was launched in August 2006, entering at number 4 in the national charts in New Zealand and remaining in the Top 20 for over two months.

Founded in 1993 around Dougie Wardrop as a side project of Centry. Since 1996, Bush Chemists have released several albums and EPs including Dub Outernational, Money Run Tings, Dubs From Zion Valley (with Jonah Dan). They currently launch singles through their Conscious Sounds label. Part of the roots and dub scene in the United Kingdom, the band most often produces in the home studio of the operator Dougie Wardrop, combining modern sounds with those of authentic reggae.

Dawa Hifi (Val and Ben) is a music production studio and soundsystem that has been around since the beginning of the millennium. During this time they have performed over a hundred shows sharing the stage with artists such as Irrational Steppas, Alpha & Omega, Martin Campbell, Zion Train, High Stand, OBF, Ondubground, Kanka, Blackboard Jungle, Jacin, Ackboo, U. Stone, Brain Damage, and many others.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at a price of RON 99 on Bilete.ro and MyTicket networks, and RON 129 at the entrance. Subscriptions have the same value regardless of the day. Details about the festival can be found on the official site.
