Subway fast food chain plans expansion to Romania

American fast food chain Subway is planning to enter the Romanian and Croatian markets this year, in a central and Eastern European expansion move, according to the company, quoted by Planet Retail. Subway is also planning to expand its presence on the Slovenian market, where it entered in 2005 through a franchise contract. The company has opened units in Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Turkey, Slovakia and Croatia. Its worldwide competitors are McDonald's Burger King, KFC, Taco Bell, among others. The latter is not yet present on the Romanian market.
