Mall in Southern Bucharest gets 25 new stores

25 September 2017

The Sun Plaza shopping center, located in Southern Bucharest, will open over 25 new stores from September 28, including Lego and Forever 21.

This is part of a renovation and remodeling process, whose second stage the mall’s owner S Immo AG has completed. The new reconfigured Sun Plaza area totals 5,500 sqm.

The remodeling process takes place in three stages over a period of 24 months. Two stages have been completed so far. In the first stage, S Immo remodeled and extended the access passage between the Piata Sudului metro station and the mall. It also modernized spaces for anchor tenants such as Altex, Terranova or H&M.

S Immo started the renovation work last year and the total investment amounts to EUR 30 million. S Immo will next renovate the mall’s restaurants area.

The company gets offers to sell the mall every month, S Immo board member Friedrich Wachernig said, reports Economica.net. However, the owners plan to keep it for at least some two-three more years.
