Surveys: Half of Romanians trust NATO
Around half of Romanians trust the North Atlantic Treaty Organization NATO, according to recent surveys by INSCOP, celebrating Romania's tenth year within the NATO.
The surveys revealed 50.5 percent of Romanians have a lot of confidence in NATO, while 49.5 percent of the respondents have little confidence in the organization. In March last year, 52.1 percent of Romanian said they had a lot of trust in NATO.
Men were found to be more trustful in NATO – 52.7 percent, rather than women – 48.4 percent. Romanians aged 18 to 49 were also more inclined to trust the NATO – 52 percent, while only 47 percent of those aged over 50 said they trusted NATO. A similar ratio was found for those with university studies, as compared to those with highshool studies.
The results are based on eight surveys between March 2013 and March 2014, each on a sample of 1,080 people, with an error margin of 3 percentage points.
