Swedish group H&M ups sales in Romania by 40%, brings new brand this year
Swedish fashion group H&M’s sales in Romania reached about EUR 190 million in the fiscal year ended November 30, 2015, up by 40% (when expressed in Swedish Krona) compared to the previous year.
Romania was thus one of the group’s fastest growing markets last year, contributing to a 19% increase in its total sales, which reached some EUR 22.2 billion.
H&M opened four new stores in Romania in 2015, reaching a total of 42 units. The retailer also launched its online store in Romania last year.
This year, H&M plans to launch its COS brand in Romania as well, according to the group's report.
The group had over 3,900 stores worldwide at the end of November 2015, 400 more compared to 2014. Germany, the US, and China are the group’s top three markets both in terms of turnover and number of stores.
