Swedish media group is after Romanian news TV station
The local company that owns the Romania TV news channel has notified the local audiovisual watchdog CNA that a European media group could become a shareholder in the company, without mentioning the group’s name.
However, several sources in the media market say that the investor may be Bernier Group, a Swedish private media group that operates in 16 countries, reports local Capital.ro.
Bernier Group owned 175 media companies and had close to 10,000 employees, in 2013. It owns TV stations as well as niche publications in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Germany, as well as Russia, Estonia, Lithuania, Poland, and Slovenia. In Eastern Europe, the group owns several business publications.
