Swedish pop icon band Roxette to play in Bucharest for the first time next year

09 November 2010

Swedish band Roxette will perform in Romania for the first time on May 30 next year, at Zone Arena, according to Emagic, which organizes the concert.  Roxette fans from Romania and the CEE region will be able to listen to Per Gessle and Marie Fredriksson in a concert which is included in the band's world tour scheduled for 2011. The band will also perform in Sofia, Bulgaria, on May 29 next year.

Tickets for the Roxette concert in Bucharest will be on sale from November 16 on myticket.ro. After that, they will also be available in the Diverta bookshop chain, in Muzica store and in Mihai Eminescu bookshop.

Roxette started touring again after an eight-year break, during which both members of the band worked mostly on solo projects. The band has also promised a new single and a new album for 2011.  Roxette was created at the beginning of the 80s and became one of the best known pop bands of the 80s and the 90s. The band shifted its style in 2000 to keep up with the evolution of the international music scene. Marie Fredriksson was diagnosed with brain tumor in 2002, when the band stopped being active. Fredriksson  eventually recovered and the band reunited in 2009.

Listen to a couple of Roxette songs below. More about the band on their official website here.
