Swedish woman wins international bowling competition in Bucharest

Swedish player Joline Persson Planefors won the seventh edition of the IDM Bucharest International Bowling Open (IBIBO) 2016. It is the first time when a female player wins the competition.

Joline Persson Planefors managed to defeat the tournament’s main favorite, Brit Paul Moor, who ended the competition on the second place. Greek George Stefanidis was third.

Joline Persson Planefors was born in 1990 and is professional bowling player, member of the Swedish national team, and multiple European champion. She is at number three in the European Bowling Tour Women ranking, based on the number of points accumulated from the beginning of this year.

In the Bucharest final, the Swedish player won with 221+8 points, and got a cash prize of EUR 3,500. The competition offered total prizes of EUR 27,000 this year.

The Romanians who performed the best at IBIBO are Cristian Calagiu and Victor Dumitrascu, who ranked 11th and 12th, respectively.

The seventh edition of IBIBO took place at IDM Club Bucuresti between October 8 and October 16. The event brought top players and amateurs from 15 countries to Bucharest.
