Swiss company SIG Combibloc invests EUR 4 mln in Cluj center
Swiss company SIG Combibloc, global leader in packaging for food and beverages, opened on December 15 the first Business Services Center in Europe, in Cluj-Napoca, following a EUR 4 million investment.
The new center will create over 100 jobs. The decision to invest in Cluj-Napoca was due to the city’s reputation as an innovative, young city, with many talented young people, the company’s economic director Marco Haussener said at a press conference.
The employees of the new center will provide a range of support services for the group’s European operations. They will provide financial, IT, client service, and human resources services. The new center covers an area of 1,200 sqm in a class A office building in Cluj-Napoca.
Since 2015, SIG is part of the Canadian company Onex Corporation. It posted a turnover of EUR 1.7 billion last year.
