Swiss Franc reaches lowest level against EUR
The Swiss Franc (CHF) has reached its lowest level this year against the EUR, following speculations that the Swiss Central Bank might intervene on the market to stabilize the rate. The EUR reached a minimum of 1.0075 CHF last weak, while the USD stood at 0.79 CHF. The decrease this week stemmed from speculations that a target, fixed rate EUR/CHF would be established. The EUR/CHF rate currently stays at EUR/CHF: 1.1371, while the USD rate is of USD/CHF: 0.7942, according to the Swiss National Bank.
The volatility of the rate has affected borrowers in Romania, many of which have loans in CHF, a currency which was very popular among banks' offers a couple of years ago.
