Talented chefs in Romania to compete at ‘MasterChef’ TV cooking show

12 March 2012

The cooking game show ‘MasterChef’ comes in Romania and will start on PRO TV on March 20, 20:30. The show will be hosted by Razvan Fodor, while three Romanian chefs, namely Florin Dumitrescu, Sorin Bontea and Catalin Scarlatescu will form the jury that chooses the winner of the EUR 50,000 top prize.

A total of 150 participants from the pre-selection were elected to enter the next phase. As a result, they will be the first talented amateur chefs to enter the PRO TV show. They will have to cook a dish to be tasted and judged by the jury.

Only 50 of them will receive the ‘MasterChef’ white apron from the jury, which takes them through to the next stage of the competition. Of those 50, 21 will get the chance to enter the ‘MasterChef’ kitchen and cook for first prize.

They will have to pass several tests proving their ingenuity, talent to improvise in the kitchen, and their ability to work against the clock. Competitors will be eliminated one by one from the show until only one chef remains - the first ‘MasterChef’ of Romania.

MasterChef is a television cooking game show that originated in the UK. The show has expanded to other countries, such as Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, India, and Portugal.
