TAP Portugal cuts Bucharest route, Blue Air launches flights to Lisbon
The Portuguese airline TAP Portugal has decided to suspend the flights to Bucharest, as well as some other cities in Europe starting April this year.
At the same time, Romania's low-cost airline Blue Air will introduce flights from Bucharest to Lisbon starting June. Blue Air made the announcement yesterday, one day after the Portuguese airline’s announcement.
Blue Air’s flights to Lisbon will take place three times a week, and the prices will be available soon.
TAP Portugal will also suspend flights to Hannover (Germany), Gothenburg (Sweden) and Zagreb (Croatia) in an attempt to maximize profits.
At the end of last year, the Portuguese Government selected the offer submitted by the consortium Gateway to take over 61% in the shares of TAP Portugal.
