The new law on the education which the Government has recently assumed responsibility for allows teaching history and geography in the mother tongue for all the national minorities, not only for the Hungarian one, said Romanian Prime Minister Emil Boc.

Having history and geography taught, in the mother tongue is valid in the current law, the same as before the enactment of the new law on education, PM Boc also told an interview with the Romanian Actualitati Radio (RRA) station. The law includes no provision that place an emphasis on the ethnic Hungarian minority compared to the other ethnic minorities living in Romania. As for the history and the geography, they have been taught using the name of places and all the other names, in the Romanian language, both before and at present,' PM Boc stressed.
