Telecom operator wants to win the Romanians' love on Valentine’s with free internet for everyone

11 February 2016

Vodafone Romania, the second biggest local mobile carrier, will offer free internet for everyone in Romania for two days, on February 13 and 14.

Vodafone Romania’s clients, be they subscribers, pre-paid services users, or business customers, will be able to use mobile internet for 48 hours without any additional costs or download speed limitations.

Even those who are not Vodafone users will be able to benefit from free internet for two days. To do so, they will need to ask for a Vodafone SIM card in any Vodafone store or partner shop, according to a statement by the company.

This is the second such initiative from Vodafone. Last year, Vodafone’s clients could use the internet for free for two days, on September 12-13, and non-clients could use the network’s data services also for free on September 14-15.

The company is thus trying to promote its Supernet 4G internet services. Vodafone also offers free internet at the Bucharest subway for all of its clients between February 8 and March 31.

The mobile data use in Vodafone’s network increased 2.3 times in the last three months of 2015 compared to the same period of 2014. Vodafone ended the year with 9.1 million clients, some 500,000 more compared to December 2014.
