Temperatures in Romania falling to 12°C in the mountains and 24°C on the coast, some rain forecast
If this summer has got everyone accustomed to high temperatures, the weather is now promising a break from sweltering heat, with rain and wind set to cool the country. Over the coming days, average maximum temperatures will be 12°C in the mountains, 24°C in Dobrogea and 25°C in Muntenia, according to the National Meteorology Administration (ANM).
Between August 9 and 12 and again on August 15, there are increased chances of isolated significant rainfall, accompanied by lightning and short-term intensification of wind. On other days in the period, the probability of rain is lower. Meteorologists expect that later there will be a slight increase in temperatures, and between August 14 and 20 will be around the average for the time of year.
In Dobrogea, including the coast, temperatures will drop day by day up until August 12, from the average values of maximum 35°C during the day to about 24°C. In mountainous areas, night time temperatures will fall as low as 4-5°C, followed by a slight increase to 18°C by day 10°C by night.
