The Romanian temporary employment market exceeded the EUR 100 million threshold last year, an 11 percent increase compared to 2010, according to recruiting agency Trenkwalder. The increase was higher than the 7 percent initially estimated by the firm, as the economic revival generated a higher boost than expected. This has triggered predictions for a 5 to 10 percent increase this year, said Bogdan Florea, general manager of Trenkwalder.

Temps will have a higher ratio in the total number of employees in 2012, Florea believes, as employers will need to adjust their staff based on the number of orders. So far, larger companies reverted to hiring temps more than small and medium ones, but these too are starting to see the benefits of hiring on a temporary basis.

Trendwalker entered the Romanian market in 2006 by acquiring Sobis Consult. Bogdan Florea owns 15 percent of the shares, while the majority shareholder is Trendwalker Austria.
