Romanian appointed president of the European Atomic Forum
Teodor Chirica, the Honorary President of the Romanian Atomic Forum (ROMATOM), was appointed president of the European Atomic Forum (FORATOM), following the decision of the Forum’s General Assembly.
FORATOM is a Brussels-based trade association for the nuclear energy industry in Europe, representing nearly 800 European companies in this industry.
Chirica joined FORATOM’s Executive Board in 2006. He helped draft European energy strategies and policies. He later got involved in the consultancy process for drafting Romania's energy strategy for the 2016-2030 period.
From October this year, Chirica has been working as a nuclear power expert and adviser to the general manager of Romanian power producer Nuclearelectrica, which operates Romania’s Cernavoda nuclear power plant. He has held over the years management positions in Romanian and foreign companies responsible for implementing nuclear projects.
